Carefree Development has been the leader in the development and operation of independent senior housing communities in Chicago and the suburbs. The firm, while doing business as American Housing Partners, was the first in Illinois to take advantage of funds made available through the Federal Tax Credit Program to finance the construction of senior housing. The firm's first project, a 190 unit independent living facility in Gurnee, broke ground in March of 1993. Since then, the firm has developed ten additional properties comprising in excess of 1,200 affordable senior residences.
Carefree Development, LLC and its principals continues the search for markets where options for seniors living on fixed incomes are limited. The firm hopes to continue creating an elegant and secure living environment for seniors at an affordable price.
